“Making music for the ones who feel alone - jaquarious indie”

indie/indie-popUnited States4 min read

From rap beats in 2023 to indie tracks the algorithm can’t stop pushing, Jaquarious indie makes music for anyone who needs to feel less alone. We talked burnout, bouldering, Les Mis and why jaqthegoat “has a ring to it.”

When did you start making music, and what made you finally release it?

I started making music back in 2023. It was pretty shit until like 6 months ago but yeah, 2023. My first songs back then were just rap beats, then I started singing some bullshit in June 2025. Then I listened to a now-niche artist named “marcy” who inspired me to start releasing my indie music.

What’s your earliest memory involving music?

My earliest memories of music are just watching all of the different versions of the musical/movie Les Misérables. I used to looooovvvee that shit when I was a lil jit.

“I’m usually not like an egotistical person, but I think jaqthegoat has a ring to it.”

Who got you into music, and who do you still go back to?

Kanye got me into music man. If you’re ever feeling sad and you’re into this genre of music, listen to uncle V11, that shit is so fire... He is one of my biggest inspirations in everything I do in life.

Where does the name Jaquarious come from, and why “indie” in the artist name?

Jaquarious indie means nothing and is dead, just some bullshit that came to my head.

What does “the goat” mean to you, and does it match who you are off the internet?

I’m usually not like an egotistical person, but I think jaqthegoat has a ring to it.

How would your closest friends describe you in three words?

I have probably 3 or 4 close friends and they would probably describe me as “shit at fortnite for using simple edit.”

How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard it?

Slop.

What’s on your playlist that would surprise people?

matt proxy, ye, predayed, clairo, slayr, etc etc...

How did people find your music, and what’s been the biggest moment so far?

I think most of my fans found me from the Spotify algorithm (they carry me), but uhh my “biggest moment” was prolly when “ltn” got big.

Is there a track you thought would be a hit that wasn’t, or one that blew up unexpectedly?

“if you please.” Bro, I loved that song so much and it did pretty ass. “hurl” was a big surprise, didn’t know it would go so crazy, but me & pooter are a crazy duo ig.

What do you want someone to feel after listening to your music?

Shit bro, I hope you feel less alone and hopefully can relate to me after you hear my music.

How do you deal with doubt or burnout?

Bro, when I get burnout I js don’t drop for a month 😭😭😭 but bro, you js gotta wait around fr if you’re burnt out.

How has making music changed you as a person?

Gave me some bread again.

What’s one thing you want to learn or try that has nothing to do with music?

I wanna get better at bouldering. I just went for the first time last weekend.

What do you want people to remember about you?

Shit bro, my name hopefully, so you can stream my stuff.

Why should someone who has never heard of you press play on your music today?

Lowkey bro, prolly just ’cause I know it’s relatable for a lot of people who were in my same situation.
